First Class- 26/09/11

In our first class of the semester, we looked at the brief for our project.
We are required to create a 30second to 1minute piece which includes video, 3D modelling, text, effects and filters. Throughout the semester we will be learning how to use these effects and filters, as well as edit video footage (e.g. green screen editing) and 3D modelling.

In this class we also edited some green screen footage using Adobe After Effects. We used the linear colour key and matte choker to fix most of the green, with a little bit of tweaking using the adjustable options. We then used a solid colour layer to put either a background in or create a silhouette of the moving body (Example of this is the infamous iPod advert). Then, using the duplicate tool we created an interesting composition.

Creating the silhouettes using the solid colour layer inspired me when thinking about my project.

First Post- 30/09/11

I will use this blog to document the work I do and ideas I have during my module 'Animation Techniques for Visual Effects'. I will write down my inspirations, ideas, workflow and final piece here, as well as making notes of what I have covered in each class on the module.
